Individual and Leadership Development

In today’s complex world, the most successful and fulfilled people are those who understand what motivates them and gives their lives meaning—and who act in alignment with this knowledge. Others waste precious life energy trying to find themselves, figuring out what they want to do, gathering the focus needed to do it, or searching for settings where they can be comfortable being who they are.

The archetypal approach to personal and professional development connects individuals directly with the archetypal energies that are the key to knowing what will fulfill them. This information can help them discover who they are and want to be in their workplaces, communities, or families and, ultimately, how they want to show up in life.

It also helps employees and organizational leaders channel their deepest values and most unique strengths into workplace accomplishments that genuinely matter—and use the best parts of themselves to become more effective and inspiring to others.

Like most of the archetypal processes used by Dr. Pearson and her colleagues, individual development work usually begins with an assessment instrument: either the Pearson-Marr Archetype Indicator™, which helps people understand the themes that have shaped their life stories, or a prototype leadership/personal branding tool developed by one of her associates. An assessment usually is followed up by coaching that translates the insights into action and implementation strategies.

Archetypal work also can be integrated easily into group settings, including families and friendship networks, as well as into leadership and professional development programs, where it can be used in conjunction with strategic planning, team building, employee retention, and change management initiatives. Ultimately, the archetypal approach to individual and leadership development can help individuals

  • understand how they truly want to live at this time in their lives
  • create a personal or professional mission that leverages their most authentic strengths and values
  • trigger a greater sense of meaning and fulfillment
  • shift energy from counterproductive to productive forms of expression, and
  • show up more authentically so that others can see their best selves

It also can help them better understand others and hence

  • improve relationships by taking a more appreciative approach
  • become more inspiring and motivational
  • respond more flexibly and effectively to difficult people and situations
  • shift archetypal narratives playing out in relationships, and
  • build a community that supports who they really are
